Rush-Henrietta 39, Webster Schroeder 28

Webster Schroeder gave Rush-Henrietta a tough challenge, but after trailing for most of the game, the Royal Comets got enough to pull out a 39-28 win. Senior running back Chancellor Harris totalled 13 carries for 101 yards and four touchdowns.

Webster Schroeder seemed poised for an upset after taking a 14-6 lead into halftime. In the second minute of the second half, Jake Guy hit Mike Joiner on a screen pass that turned into a 76 yard touchdown and a 21-6 lead for the Warriors. The Royal Comets wouldn't waste any time wollowing on their defecit thanks to Bay Barley returning the kickoff for a touchdown, pulling the Comets to within nine points.

Rush-Henrietta picked up a score from Harris that closed the gap to 21-19. In the closing moments of the third quarter, R-H quarterback Chauncey Scissum connected with Chase Weitchman on a six yard touchdown to give the Comets their first lead of the night, 25-21.

Webster Schroeder put themselves back in front on the opening play of the fourth quarter after Guy took it in from 14 yards out. After that, Chancellor Harris took over, picking up two more touchdowns to give Rush-Henrietta the lead for good.

With the win, Rush-Henrietta moves to 3-0 this season, while Webster Schroeders fall to 1-2.
