Care Packages Donated to Golisano Hospital

Families with children being treated at Golisano Children's Hospital received special gifts Friday.
Mark and Laurie Napoleone lost their 8-year-old son, Michael, to cancer back in 2006. Golisano Children's Hospital was their home off and on for 13 months. Now, the family wants to give back.
"In 2007, we decided to create this foundation in his memory, not only to keep him in the center of our mind, but because so many people gave to us and helped us stay afloat during our time in the hospital," said Laurie Napoleone.
On Friday, the foundation donated 50 care packages to families treated by the Pediatric Transport Program.
The team responds to critically sick or injured children from this region and beyond. Now, the ambulances are filled with care packages for the families in need.
"As children are brought in on the emergency transport, often times they are here, families come in with them, and they don't have supplies, basic supplies like toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap things that you would bring from home if you had to come in and stay in the hospital," said Laurie Napoleone.
Local schools helped donate the supplies. Laurie says they will fill more care packages as needed.
