Ask Caleb Thielbar what he would have said if you told him 12 months ago he'd be playing Triple-A baseball in Rochester, "I would've said you're crazy."

In the last year, Thielbar has progressed from the St. Paul Saints to one step away from the majors. He's gone from single-A to double-A to triple-A in less than three months.

Thielbar never got above single-A in two season with the Brewers organization. A couple of mechanical adjustmets before this season have catapulted him up the Twins farm system. "I was only 24 playing independent ball," Thielbar says. "It was just a matter of getting everything working again and someone picking me up. The Twins did it."

For many, independent league baseball is the last step before the end of a baseball career. For Thielbar, it was a big reason he made it back. "We had a lot of guys with major league experience," Thielbar says. "Both of guys that had lots of experience were pitchers. I was able to take their advice and run with it"

Making the bigs would be extra special for Thielbar, who's from Northfield, Minnesota.
"It's great incentive to be able to go home. I live 40 minutes from stadium. It would be outstanding," Thielbar says.
