Updated: June 29, 2012
The Rochester City School Board has approved a contract for the district's new superintendent.

Superintendent Bolgen Vargas will get a 4-year contract with a $195,000 salary. The salary will make Vargas one of the least paid superintendents of the big five districts in the state. He will also be one of the lowest paid of the surrounding districts. Vargas says his plans for success in the district include extending the school day.
