Man Dies After Shooting on Carl St.

Another life was claimed by a shooting Thursday night, making it Rochester's 20th homicide this year.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Carl Street. Responding officers found James Florence, 24, lying in the street. Police say he was shot several times in the chest. Officers tried to perform CPR. Florence was pronounced dead at Rochester General Hospital just after 10 p.m.

Police say they are talking to several witnesses.
