Rochester, N.Y., June 25, 2012 - Ticket pre-sale registration has begun and volunteer applications are being accepted for the 95th PGA Championship, Aug. 5-11, 2013, at Oak Hill Country Club.
The ticket pre-sale registration process for the 95th PGA Championship gives registrants first notice of ticket sale details and exclusive information regarding Championship tickets. Fans can register by going to the Tickets section of www.pgachampionship.com. Based on the high-level demand from previous PGA of America events hosted at Oak Hill, officials recommend registering to guarantee your place in line, as there are a limited amount of tickets and volunteer opportunities available.
"The Rochester community has always been a tremendous supporter of the PGA Championship," said PGA Championship Director Ryan Cannon. "With a limited amount of only 27,000 tickets available for each day of the Championship, we anticipate demand will be high. That is why The PGA of America organizes a pre-sale registration process to give fans ample time to secure their attendance."
Key dates for tickets to the 95th PGA Championship:
June 25 - July 22: Ticket Pre-Sale Registration period
July 23 - Registrants receive exclusive access to 95th PGA Championship tickets
Aug. 6 - Ticket sales are open to the public
There are 3,500 volunteer positions available. Volunteer committee assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals will receive a volunteer uniform, an official copy of the 95th PGA Championship Journal, food vouchers, and off-site parking with shuttle service to the Championship. In addition, volunteers will receive a Volunteer Credential, which will give them access to the grounds all seven days of the Championship (Monday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013).
It is requested that each adult volunteer contribute a minimum of 16 hours, but also be flexible to meet the needs of the committee before, during, and after the Championship. You must be 22 years of age or older by Aug. 5, 2013, to complete the application. The PGA Championship is one of golf's four major championships and is one of the largest sporting events conducted each year in the United States. Next year will mark the third time the PGA Championship will be contested in the Rochester, N.Y. community, preceded by the 1980 and 2003 PGA Championships at Oak Hill Country Club) Perennially the strongest field in golf will challenge the legendary East Course at Oak Hill and compete for the coveted Wanamaker Trophy.
