Cleary Powers Fairport To Sectional Crown

Mackenzie Cleary went 3-for-3 with four RBI and a homer to go with a complete game on the mound as Fairport won the Class AA Sectional Title 6-3 over Webster Schroeder at SUNY Brockport Saturday.
The Warriors had a chance in the 7th, but left the bases loaded.
Fairport scored three runs quickly in the first inning, but Schroeder scraped back to within 3-2 in the fourth. Cleary answered with a home run to lead off the 5th, pushing the lead to 4-2.
The Red Raiders tacked on runs in the sixth and seventh before Webster mounted a final rally. Jennie Ford singled to make it 6-3, but Cleary ended the game with a groundout. She was named tournament MVP.
