Penfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in their Class A championship game against unbeaten and nationally ranked Fairport.

From there, the Red Raiders never let Penfield breathe.

Fairport scored nine goals in a row over the second and third quarters to blow the game open and cruised to a 16-10 win at St. John Fisher Tuesday night, earning a Class A sectional title.

Derek DeJoe started the run with a goal midway through the second quarter to give Fairport the lead for good at 5-4. Eight goals and over 15 minutes later, it was 13-4 Fairport before Penfield scored again.

Fairport is now 19-0 and are ranked 13th in the country by ESPN's Fab 50 high school lacrosse rankings.
