Canandaigua pushed Irondequoit to the limit. Briele Caples made sure the Eagles never fell over the edge.

The senior scored six goals, including five of Irondequoit's final six, leading the Eagles to a 11-9 win in the Class B Lacrosse Final Tuesday evening at St. John Fisher.

Caples netted back-to-back goals second apart late in the second quarter to put Irondequoit up 7-4. He also scored the final goal of the third to make it 10-6 Eagles with 12 minutes to go.

However, Canandaigua opened the fourth quarter with three straight goals, cutting the lead to 10-9 with seven minutes to go.

After the Braves had a couple of chances to tie, Caples put it away by driving the net goal line extended from the left. He was not picked up in front of the net and easily scored the game's final goal with two minutes remaining.

It's the 16th boys lacrosse title in Irondequoit history.
