Almost every kid dreams of hitting a major league home run. And every one probably dreams of taking the ball home.

Matt Carson lived half the dream.

His first MLB homer came with the Oakland A's in September of 2009. The fan who caught the ball wanted 10-thousand dollars to give it up. Carson was on a minor league contract and couldn't come close to affording that. He offered to sign bats, balls or virtually anything, but the fan wouldn't budge. In the end, the fan kept the ball and Carson kept his bat as a souvenir.

Carson talks about how the incident affected his view of baseball fans and his time at BYU because this week, he's In The Box with Thad Brown.
