Nate answers by stating that he does not believe in design trends because he believes that design trends are set-up like fashion, in that people are subjected to feel they are wearing or using the wrong style.
Instead of following trends, Nate prefers to have one's home tell a story about them, and for them to reach for things that reflect their personalities. However, Nate stresses that when new things do come along, he does use them to add and freshen-up the style that is already his.
On that note, Nate notes to Kelly recent and interesting items that he is seeing are metallic accents; bronze and metal detailing on pillows. For a more natural look, Nate is noticing the use of sheepskin, lamb's wool, tactile and textured fabric items. Nate stresses removing clutter in the home for a clean and crisp look and feel.
