Penfield Girls Roll In State Semis

Margot Hetzked scored 15 points and Penfield pulled away late to beat Lockport 54-37 in the Class AA State Quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at Finger Lakes CC.
Lucy Covley and Sheila Nesselbush each added 10 points.
Penfield led 20-8 after one quarter, but Lockport came back and closed the deficit to 25-19 at the half.
The Patriots quickly re-opened a double-digit lead, but did not put Lockport away until midway through the fourth quarter.
Penfield's next game is Friday at 6:30pm in the State Final Four at Hudson Valley CC.
