Aquinas Handles Schroeder For Title

Phil Valenti scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as (1)Aquinas held off (3)Schroeder 63-57 in the Class AA1 Final Saturday night at Blue Cross Arena.
The Irish led by nine at halftime and by 13 midway through the fourth quarter, but the Warriors wouldn't go quietly. They fought back to within three points with under 30 seconds remaining, but Christian White made enough free throws to seal the win.
Aquinas will next face AA2 champ East High in the state qualifier Wednesday night.
