Roderick Jones went about his business knocking down midrange jumpers one after another.
The combination was more than enough as (7)Edison upset (2)Fairport 69-62 in the Class AA1 Quarterfinals on Ayrault Road Friday night.
Fairport led early in the second half, but Edison scored five of the last six points in the third quarter to grab a 50-46 lead.
Blythers and Jones took over in the fourth, combining for 14 of Edison's 19 points. Blythers had two unmolested dunks--the second a windmill that hammered the rim loudly.
Fairport hung close for a while, but never got closer than the four point deficit which began the quarter. Blythers windmill jam made it a seven point game and the Raiders never again threatened.
Jones led all scorers with 17 points and had 12 rebounds while Blythers added 14 points.
Eli Jones paced Fairport with 14.
The Inventors will now face (3)Schroeder in Tuesday's semifinal.
