All you have to do is take a look at the temperatures to realize winter has arrived---just in time for an annual winter celebration at Mendon Ponds Park.
Even in the cold weather---families came out to Winterfest to enjoy the fun. There were people skiing---sledding---and even trying their hand at some lumber jack tasks. Those who planned the party say they're happy the snow came...although they did have a back-up plan.
"I'd say about three activities depend on the snow. You know the cross country skiing. the snow shoe race they can do that using running shoes if there's no snow. The sled dog race were prepared to do that using their summer training gear...sleds with rollers. They were going to use those. So we have plan b for those activities that do require snow," said Kenneth Hann, Winterfest Organizer.
This is the 17th annual Winterfest at the park.
