NY State Sex Offender Locator on Facebook

The New York State Government has created a facebook application to locate registered sex offenders.
The list of 32,994 registered offenders is on "Sex Offender Locator Application" on the New York State Public Safety Facebook Page. It was launched by the Division of Criminal Justice Services on Monday.
Using the application is simple. Users have the option to either search for offenders by last name, county or zip code. After a search is entered, a list of offenders is generated. Users can click on each name to get a mugshot and address of the registered sex offender along with other identifying information.
Already, the page has almost 3,000 "likes".

You may want to think before you start calling people animals and going after them with torches.
Did you know that a conviction for public urination in NY state requires listing on the [censored] offenders list? Get caught skinny dipping, even on private property? Offender. Solicit a hooker? Offender. Some people have been mandated to be listed on it because they lost a case where someone accused them of public nudity, with no other witnesses.
If this list were for only violent offenders, like rapists, child molesters, and the like, I'd be all for it. But the "tough love" laws of the past decade or so has turned this list into a useless pile of hate, and netted a lot of non-violent "offenders" who will pay for the rest of their lives because they were drunk and had to pee really bad when a bathroom wasn't around, and a cop was.

best thing ever i have an 11 yr old grand daughter and i wanna know where all the [censored] AFFENDERS LIVE WHY DONT YOU PUT THEM ALL IN ONE BID BUILDING ON A FARM!!!!BECAUSE THEY ARE NOTHING BUT ANIMALS!!!
