Hendriks gave three runs in the first inning of his last start July 26 in Louisville, then settled down to post his first Triple-A win. On Sunday, Hendriks gave up a one out, two-run single to Jorge Vazquez as the Yankees took a 2-0 lead.
But Hendriks' teammates quickly erased the deficit in the Rochester half of the first. Mike Hollimon and Brian Dinkelman hit one-out singles off D.J. Mitchell, and Bailey followed with a home run to center field to give the Wings a 3-2 lead. It was Bailey's ninth homer of the season.
Rene Rivera and Toby Gardenhire both ripped back-to-back, one-out singles to create a scoring threat for the Wings in the second inning. Denard Span grounded out but advanced the runners on a fielder's choice for the second out of the inning. They were left stranded when Hollimon flew out to end the inning.
With two outs and two men on base in the third inning Chase Lambin helped pad the Wings lead with a towering three-run home run to give Rochester a 6-2 advantage.
Span sparked the Rochester offense in the fourth inning with a one-out single. Hollimon followed with a single of his own. Bailey walked to load the bases with two outs, but the Wings were unable to take advantage as Dustin Martin flew out to end the inning.
Hendriks gave up back-to-back singles putting men on the corners with no outs for the Yankees in the fifth inning. Greg Golson hit a sacrifice fly, allowing another run to score cutting the Wings lead in half. Rochester's defense however picked him up turning a Hollimon, Gardenhire, Bailey 4-6-3 double play to end the inning. Hendriks returned to the mound in the sixth and seventh, pitching another two scoreless innings.
The Wings called Dusty Hughes into the game in relief of Hendriks in the eighth inning. Hendriks gave up on two earned runs off of seven hits, striking out four and walking none in his seven innings of work. Hughes gave up no runs on one hit before being relieved by Jim Hoey with two outs in the eighth inning.
