The rapper turned himself in Wednesday morning to start a 2 year stint in jail on weapons charges. In 2007, police searched his car and found a loaded semi-automatic weapon with the serial number scratched off. Ja Rule's next album is set to hit stores when he's behind bars.
#4 - Solar Flare
Scientists are saying the Earth will not see any major impact from Tuesday's solar flare. The energy released could deliver a small blow to the planet's magnetic field. If that happens, satellites and some power grids may see a slight blip.
#3 - Marijuana
The state of Connecticut has now decriminalized the drug. Under the new law, people caught with a half ounce or less of marijuana will face a $150 fine. If that person caught is under 21, he or she would get a 2 month suspension on their driver's license. Connecticut is the 13th state to decriminalize marijuana.
#2 - Congressman Anthony Weiner
One airline is not wasting any time on taking advantage of Capitol Hill's latest scandal. Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines unveiled its "Weiner Sale" with some round trip fares starting at $9 each way. The promotion urges customers to buy now before "the sale gets hacked".
#1 - Delta Fees
Some U.S. soldiers are upset with Delta over baggage fees. The unnamed unit of 30+ soldiers were on their way back from fighting in Afghanistan when they had to shell out $2,800 to check additional bags. They posted a video of the ordeal on YouTube. A Delta spokesperson apologized to the Army unit and said the airline would be reaching out to each soldier personally. The airline did not say whether they would reimburse the soldiers.
