At Midlakes High School....senior Cassie Goodman is a shining star...not just in the classroom....but in the arts. She says if people enjoy her artwork----it's just a bonus. Cassie Goodman is in this week's scholastic arts spotlight.
Cassie Goodman has an eye for detail, and the proof is in her artwork. Every line, and every burst of color, comes with deep intention. At Midlakes High School in Clifton Springs, she's produced stand-out work. This pencil drawing is one of her most recent creations.
"This was a really big accomplishment, just because, this is a collage, there's so many pictures and so many details."
Cassie isn't just an exceptional artist. She's an all-state athlete in track, a musician, and an A-student. Teachers say she has high standards and work ethic like no other.
"The thing that stands out for me is the detail,” says Mary Quinn, Fine Arts Department Chair.
"I'm always proud of my artwork,” says Cassie. "It kind of just comes out as you work on it....it kind of happens as you progress."
Cassie will study art education in college. Her goal one day is to teach the very subject she devotes so much time to. In the meantime, she'll keep displaying her work. It's already been on exhibit at shows throughout Ontario County.
