Syracuse was given a 3-seed in the East region and will only have to travel six hours away for their first two games.
The Orange open the Big Dance Friday at 10:00 PM in Cleveland against Indiana State, the famous alma mater of Celtics great Larry Bird. If the Orange beat the Sycamores, the next game would be Sunday against the winner of Marquette and Xavier.
It's no misprint, the Orange might have a conference rematch in the second round. That's what happens when one conference gets 11 teams in the NCAA Tournament, as the Big East did this year.
Should the Orange win two games and advance out of Cleveland, their next two games would be in Newark, NJ. Those games would also be played Friday and Sunday, March 25th and 27th. North Carolina is the 2-seed in the East and would be SU's most likely third round opponent. The number one seed in the East is Ohio State.
The Final Four will be played April 2nd and 4th in Houston.
