Fabulous, amazing and caring are just some of the words used to describe our News 8 Golden Apple Award winner. We received a wonderful letter from 5th grader Kaori-Mei Stephens nominating Christina Coniglio at Rochester's School Number 12.

Kaori-Mei says "She is the best teacher I have ever had and I think she deserves it."

"Ms. Coniglio has an amazing style. A self confidence about her and she does a wonderful job of delivering instruction" says Principal Michele Liguori-Alampi. "She cares for the kids and they know it. She's very firm, she's very rigorous in what she asks but she does it in such a way that the kids just want to perform for her."

Ms. Coniglio says "It means a lot. It just feels good to know my students love me and appreciate me, like I love and appreciate them."

Christina Coniglio is a News 8 Golden Apple Award winner. You can read the letter we got nominating her below.

Dear Channel 8,

My fabulous teacher. My amazing, organized teacher. My nice, caring, loving teacher. My stylish, talented teacher. My teacher. Can you imagine all of those things put in one? I know that I sure can. It's MY teacher! Her name is Christina Coniglio, and she is my fabulous teacher.
Did you know that Miss Coniglio (my fabulous teacher) spent her own money on binders, folders, and student planners for us? Did you know, that she spends most of her time awake at school instead of at home? It may be hard to believe but it's true.
She is a very giving person. She treats our classroom like a second home. When it's time to go home and I leave the classroom, she gives me a hug and says "I love you." She is like a school mom to me.
Miss Coniglio also prepares us for middle school and high school by providing us with sourcebooks. In our sourcebooks we take high school class notes. Sometimes, we bring them home to study. These sourcebooks help us stay organized when we take notes. That is all about my fabulous teacher.

Sincerely,

Kaori-Mei Stephens, 5th Grader, RCSD School No.12
