Our Golden Apple Award winner is a ball of energy. There is always something exciting going on in Elizabeth Meyers' 2nd grade classroom at Bernabi Elementary School in Spencerport. She was Andrew Seniawski's teacher last year. He wrote us a wonderful letter explaining what a great teacher Mrs. Meyers is.

When we surprised Mrs. Meyers she exclaimed "What! Wow, I truly am surprised! Am I dreaming?"

Mrs. Meyers' co-workers agree with Andrew. Jean Twilliger also teachers 2nd Grade. "She's special because she's a bubbly positive person. Her interactions are so positive."

"Elizabeth has lots of positive energy, she loves working with children" says 2nd Grade Teacher Chris Kincaid. "I think Elizabeth leaves a lot of great impressions on a lot of students. But it's great she's receiving this award today."

Andrew's Mother calls Mrs. Meyers is a saint because she's fair and keeps parents informed. Elizabeth says "I believe in being firm, fair, yet friendly. And communication is important. I love my job. I mean this is truly a passion for me, teaching. I love teaching second grade, Andrew was in my class last year. He's a great student. And I love Bernabi and Spencerport! "

Elizabeth Meyers is a News 8 Golden Apple Award winner. You can read the letter Andrew wrote nominating her below.

Dear Channel 8,

Mrs. Meyers is very sweet, I want to surprise her with this treat. She is a wonderful teacher and her personality is being nice and sweet.

I would not think twice about nominating her, because she is confident, fair, and polite. She's the very best. She taught me many things and especially to read and write.

She is very special and when she teaches she is genuine and not artificial. She was my teacher for one year, but in my heart forever.

Please give her the Golden Apple Award because I want her to know just how special she is and to say "thank you."

Sincerely,

Andrew Seniawski
