Knighthawks announce protected list

(Rochester, NY)… Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced the teams protected list for the 2008 National Lacrosse League Expansion Draft. The draft, which will supply the Boston Blazers franchise with its roster, will take place on Thursday, July 24th at 2:00 p.m. The expansion draft will be held via conference call.
The Knighthawks protected list includes 2007 MVP and Champions Cup MVP John Grant, 2007 First Team All-Pros Steve Toll and Shawn Williams, and goalie Pat OToole. Rochester also protected Troy Bonterre, Sandy Chapman, Scott Ditzell, Scott and Shawn Evans, Bill Greer, Stephen Hoar, Mat MacLeod, Jack Reid and Chris Schiller.
Boston will be able to select a maximum of 12 players (one player from each current team) in the expansion draft. Clubs may choose to protect (1) goalie and (13) runners OR (2) goalies and (10) runners.
