"Even though we know we need to eat healthy, it's one of the hardest things to do."

This Healthy Hero is making it easier for low income families. Margaret O'Neill helped get the farmer's market token program up and running.

"It has just been phenomenal. It's been very, very popular with our customers, with our vendors - everybody loves it," said O'Neill

Customers are able to buy wooden tokens using their food stamp card.   Farmers can accept them same as cash.

"We're selling more and more everyday. This year we're probably going to sell a half million dollars worth of tokens," said O'Neill.

Previously low income families couldn't use their Electronic Benefits Card at the Rochester Public Market.

"It meant that people who had food stamp cards couldn't use those benefits at farmers markets."

For the last two years, they've been able to shop with ease.

"There's so much emphasis on being healthy and reducing obesity and all of the chronic diseases. If there's one thing you can do to be healthier, it's eat more fruits and vegetables," said O'Neill.

Margaret helps make that possible and that's why she's a Healthy Hero.
