David Huff took an Alex Rodriguez line drive off the head on Saturday. He was lucky. The ball caused no permanent damage.

After being released from the hospital, Huff said he didn't think pitchers needed to wear helmets. Major league hitters have similarly had no interest in new padded batting helmets that can stop 100 mph fastballs. The minor leaguers who are forced to wear the new helmets scoff at them. They think the helmets make them look foolish.

Thad Brown and Cory Hepola discuss why baseball players, and even athletes in general, seem to put their appearance over protecting their head.
