Jason Pridie extended his hitting streak to 13 games on his last at-bat as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 6-2, on Friday night at Frontier Field.

IronPig starter Brian Mazone (2-3) kept Red Wings hitters off-balance all night. Starting in the third inning, he retired 18 of the last 21 Red Wings batters that he faced, finishing with eight innings pitched, two unearned runs and five strikeouts.

Both Mazone and Red Wings starting pitcher Philip Humber had rocky first innings. With no outs and two on, Mike Cervenak stroked a long fly ball that arched toward the foul pole in left, and was ruled a three-run home run for an early 3-0 IronPigs lead. Humber settled down with a strikeout followed by a walk, and an inning-ending double play.

The Wings got right back in the game in their half of the first. With two outs, Darnell McDonald reached on an error by second baseman Casey Smith, and McDonald hustled all the way to second base on the play. Garrett Jones drew a walk from Mazone, then Randy Ruiz hit a triple into the right field corner to bring in McDonald and Jones and make it a one-run lead for Lehigh Valley.

In the fourth inning, the IronPigs loaded the bases after three consecutive singles. Despite that, Humber managed to get out of the inning nearly unscathed as he only allowed one run on a sacrifice fly to Javon Moran, making the score 4-2.

Entering the game, IronPig Andy Tracy had home runs on back-to-back nights. He increased his streak to three as he blasted a two-run home run in the seventh to put the score at 6-2.

In the eigthth inning with his 12-game hitting streak on the line, Pridie came up clutch and shot a ball in between the shortstop and third baseman on a 0-1 count.

Humber's (0-3) final line was 4 2/3 innings pitched, while allowing eight hits, three earned runs and two strikeouts.
