Fingerlakestrack2008-04-18-1208556175.jpgLive racing gets underway tomorrow at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack. The track will begin its 47th season in Farmington. Gates open at 11:30 with the first race set for just after one.

For the first time in its history, Finger Lakes will be without the services of Ross Morton. Morton has been the track's only announcer...he passed away in February. But, the track plans a special memorial.

"Brand new winners circle.  It's actually going to be dedicated to the memory of Ross Morton, who was our longtime track announcer.  He had been the only voice of the track.  So, we're going to be dedicating as well as running the first race silent.   There will be no announcing the first race," says Steve Martin of Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack.

Fans will also be able to sign a special remembrance scroll that will be sent to Morton's family after the races, and donations will be accepted in his name for the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program.
