Gigi Monachino is one top talent. This Allendale Columbia senior has played at the White House, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall.
"That was the best day of my life, it was so amazing," said Gigi. "I'm so thankful I got the chance. Just being able to walk into the vicinity is a nice thing, but being able to perform there where so many other people played was really cool for me."
Gigi has been playing violin since she was 4 years old. This home video shows just some of her many recitals and performances. She practices and performs every single day. For Gigi, it's a true labor of love.
Allendale Columbia music teacher Gabe Costanzo backs up her musicianship with her rock-solid character.
"When I hear someone like Gabrielle playing, it's just amazing. I think back to when I was a student, and I could have played as well as she does. I think of all the possibilities that are open to her now, it's just a really nice feeling," said Constanzo.
"It's a new challenge every day. I've always known it was what I wanted to do," said Gigi, whose ultimate goal is to play in a symphony orchestra.
With dozens of awards already under her belt, she's well on her way. She's a violinist who makes beautiful music, and the whole world is taking notice.
