TORONTO, ON – Rogers Centre and the Buffalo Bills today announced the match-up for the first game of the 2008 Bills Toronto Series.

On Thursday, August 14 the Bills will face one of the National Football League’s most storied franchises – the Pittsburgh Steelers – in a pre-season game at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The game will be played at 7:30 P.M. EDT and broadcast nationally in Canada.

“Our organization is excited about coming to Toronto to play in the inaugural game of our Toronto Series on August 14th against the Steelers,” said Russ Brandon, the Bills Chief Operating Officer.  “Our games against the Steelers have always been hard-fought, competitive contests and this will be an excellent match up for our fans as we kick off our Toronto Series.”

The Bills Toronto series concept first received the endorsement of several key National Football League committees and was then approved unanimously by the NFL owners prior to Super Bowl XLII in Arizona. The series, which will make the Bills the first league team to hold a regular-season game in Canada, includes a regular season game each year (2008-2012) and preseason games in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

Fans are encouraged to register at www.billsintoronto.com for the opportunity to purchase Bills Toronto Series Tickets. Tickets will go on sale in May, 2008.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are truly one of the NFL’s model franchises, both on and off the field, so we are honoured to have them involved in the Bills Toronto Series,“ said Phil Lind, Vice Chairman, Rogers Communications, Inc. “The Steelers strong Southern Ontario fan base, combined with Toronto’s passionate Bills and general NFL fans will create an electric atmosphere at the Rogers Centre this summer.”

Tickets for the Bills Toronto Series will go on sale in May, 2008.
