CPA Dave Young of Young and Co. helped build a school in Haiti before the earthquake.
Young says there were 200 students at the school in Port-au-Prince. 40 kids died in the quake. On Friday, Young and his wife took custody of their adoptive son from Haiti.
President Obama signed a new law on Friday that says cash donations to Haitian relief charities given between Jan. 11 and March 1 of 2010 can be treated like a year-end contribution. That means you can deduct the donations on your 2009 income tax return.
Check out Young's website about what his team is doing in Haiti. Young and Company CPAs LLP is matching dollar for dollar up to $20,000 to support his school/orphanage in Haiti.
