CLICK HERE to send your thoughts.Spitzer should resign - he is not above the law, should be punished for what he did - and get out of leading New York State. We are a sick society that anyone thinks this is ok. The message we are sending to our young people is wrong. And my heart goes out to his family.

This is really a sad situation for the people of New York. I feel for Spitzers family. It will be very difficult for him to re-establish trust from the people. Until more information is available, I think he should continue his duties as governor. I think a good man did a very bad thing. Let the first one of us that have not sinned cast the first stone. If he is truly remorseful, I think we forgive him and get on with the business of running New York.

Governor Spitzer has clearly admitted that he has violated his family, his state and himself and, as such, must resign immediately! He must be treated just like any other person would be and should be prosecuted for violating the law. His arrogance has been obvious ever since he became governor and he, like a lot of politicians, thinks he is above the law and that is a travesty to say the least. He must resign and should be disbared as should serve time if the law would treat anyone else that way.

Governor Spitzer should not remain governor. It is not
just about his personal life when he is a governor of
a state. He committed a crime and he should be ticket
or arrested as any other citizen would be.

To say that I am dismayed by the reports of Gov. Spitzer’s recent actions is an understatement. I am completely shocked and appalled. How we were all spellbound by his fervor to bring corruption to a halt in government and big business. And now this.
But you know what really kills me? Yet again, the image of a clearly rattled wife standing readily by her husband’s side while he makes the requisite, professionally authored apology.
Just once, I wish the wife would say, “Sorry pal, you’re not going to make a fool of me or this family” and give the cheater a public boot.

The high priced hooker is the least of the problem for the Barlow house.
Practically speaking, the real concern that scares us is the money
laundering allegation, which must involved multiple felony events,
multiple people must have been involved, they all need to be tracked down
and punished. This kind of corruption must not stand.
The Governor must resign, must do so immediately. And then the other heads
must roll as the investigation proceeds.

Ken Barlow

If I recall correctly, Senator Craig did not resign nor did former
President Clinton. So what makes you think Governor Spitzer will? I
know what he did is wrong and unacceptable in the public eye but if
you can look through the former President and Senator Craig, what make
Spitzer any different to look past the wrong and look at the good he's
done for the community
Sincerely,
Kristin

He should leave politics for good and do some time or pay a fine.
