Route 96 construction begins

RT96CONSTRUCTION2008-03-03-1204564214.jpgThe next time you're headed to Victor, plan on taking a detour. A portion of Route 96 is closed for bridge construction.


Cars can take

Plastermill Road
to
McMahon Road
 to avoid the construction. Commercial trucks will have to take a longer route...from
Maple Ave
 to County Road 41 and back up Route 332.


The bridge project was controversial last year because business owners feared the construction would prevent people from shopping. The state Department of Transportation has agreed to advertise for those businesses with pamphlets that was mailed out to residents.


The bridge will reopen in early September.
