Webster man accused of imitating a police officer

A Webster man is under arrest after police say he posed as a police officer on internet dating websites, even taking a gun and radio along on dates he arranged online. New York State Police have arrested and charged 25year old Chad Avalone of Webster with second degree criminal impersonation.

Investigators tell News 8 Avalone portrayed himself as an officer and a swat team leader on social networking and dating websites like www.myspace.com and www.singlesnet.com to pick up women in the western New York Area. Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with Avalone to call: 585-398-4100.
