Students at Churchville-Chili High School have their work cut out for them in the next few days. The robotics competition teams will be working around the clock to complete and ship their robots by 5pm Tuesday. Students with backgrounds from art to engineering are busy designing, building and putting the finishing touches on the robots for a regional contest. Organizers say there's a lot more involved, then just the robots.
"The great thing about it is there's a lot of college scholarships and it gives them a lot of growth opportunities for kids, they learn how to work with adults and work with other kids and there's a lot of good opportunities for them," says Jason Rees, a technology teacher and team leader in the competition.
The Finger Lakes regional competition will be held March 7th and 8th at RIT.
