All RG & E customers in Monroe and Wayne County have power restored

rge2008-02-17-1203281370.JPGThe remaining customers without power in Chili Center are now back online as of 3:55 p.m. The cause of the outage was downed wires on Ridge Road near Chili Center.


Earlier on Sunday a brief power outage caused problems in parts of Wayne and Monroe County. The outage occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. affecting 3100 customers in Greece and 1,400 customers in the Lexington Avenue neighborhoods. The power was restored in about 30 minutes. The cause of that outage is still being investigated.


An additional 400 customers in Webster also lost power for about 30 minutes on Sunday. RG & E tells News 8 Now that the cause of that outage was a faulty insulator in the system.
