Three families are without a home today after a two alarm fire ripped through their home Saturday morning on Rochester's west side. The fire, in a multi-family home at 95 Emerson Street, was called in to 911 just before 9:00 this morning. The fire was brought under control by 9:30 a.m. Everyone in the home escaped safely from the back of the house. One firefighter was taken to the hospital after straining his arm. The American Red Cross is helping a total of three adults and five children who lived in three apartments in the home. There's no word on what sparked the fire.
