Police tell News 8 Now that the Ngo was the driver of a car that was caught in the middle of the enormous pile-up.

In all, 25 people were transported to area hospitals. Nine people were taken to Strong Hospital, 17-year old Le Ngo was among them and she died there. At Strong Hospital, 18 year old Lyubov Klepanchuk, a passenger in another car, is in guarded condition, three more people were treated and released, two were admitted and are in satisfactory condition and two are in the emergency department under evaluation. Of the twelve people taken to Unity Hospital, all of those patients were treated and released.  Among patients taken to Highland Hospital, two were treated and released, one is still under observation.  Rochester General Hospital did not take any victims from the crash, however, handled the overflow of emergency patients from Strong and Unity Hospital not relating to the crash.

In a news conference Sunday evening, NYS police say white-out conditions were likely the cause of the multi-car pile up on the southbound lanes of I-390 near Scottsville Road in Gates. In all, four fire departments and 23 ambulance crews responded to the scene.   Snow was not falling at the time but wind gusts contributed to the blowing snow over the highway at the time.  I-390 southbound and northbound lanes reopened between Scottsville Road and Brooks Avenue just after 6 p.m .  The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
