Officers say Charles Tavolino, 41, took donations for both fake and real charities including the Childhood Cancer Association.

It's also alleged Tavolino involved a 10 year old boy in the scheme to solicit funds.

Tavolino has also been accused of altering a check made out to one of the charities and then trying to cash it in.

Last year, police arrested Tavolino's brother Joseph for a similar scheme.
