(ROCHESTER) - The New York chair of Sen. John McCain's presidential committee stopped by the News 8 Now studios on Humboldt St. Thursday.
Edward Cox said he thinks McCain now has the momentum to win the GOP primary here. Recent polls show McCain now leading former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.
"We've had a campaign here, planning for it in Western New York for a long time," said Cox. "His polls in WNY are better than any other part of New York state, so he is the overwhelming candidate here among Republicans."
Edward Cox is the son-in law of President Richard Nixon. He married Tricia Nixon at the White House during the Nixon presidency.
