Mike Dardzinski is working hard to organize grassroots support for democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, but he says his candidate is not getting a lot of support from the Monroe County Democratic Committee.
“We've had volunteers come to us and tell us that they gone to the county party headquarters and the impression that they get is that the county party is the Hillary Clinton campaign office the signs are apparently in the front windows,” Dardzinski said.
Its not just in the windows. Inside democratic headquarters there’s several prominently placed Hillary Clinton campaign posters and campaign literature. There was none for either Barack Obama or John Edwards.
News Eight asked Clinton campaign official Jack Kashinsky about the absence of literature for Obama and Edwards.
”That's because Joe Morelle is supporting Hillary,” Kashinsky said.
Morelle who heads the Monroe County Democratic Committee is also a Clinton delegate.
News Eight caught up with Morelle by phone who was on his way to Albany. As Clinton delegate he makes no apologies about his support for the Senator Clinton but says the party gives it's support to all candidates who need it.
“Well I don’t think there’s any question that we have some bias toward Senator Clinton not in an official capacity we have extended our resources to the Obama campaign we have high regard for Senator Obama,” Morelle said.
In the meantime, Dardzinsky says with or without the committees support they'll keep plugging away for their candidate.
“They're not actively expressing any neutrality they have the actual chair of the Monroe County Democratic Party saying that this is Clinton County we're gonna show them it's Barack Country,” Dardzinski said.
