ObamaRally2008-01-26-1201409561.jpgWith the New York State primary a little over a week away, Rochester supporters of democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama took their message to the street on Saturday. The Obama campaign headquarters on Hudson Streetin the city was crowded with dozens of volunteers who rallied in support of their candidate. Many were signing up to go door to door to stump for obama.

Local campaign officials say the key to Obama wining in New York on February 5th is getting people out to the polls.

" We estimate that there'll only be a million voters turning out for this primary for the first time in February so we're out here every day trying to get voters to be aware that there's a primary Feb. 5th and to get them to come out and vote," says Ken Preston, a member of Rochester Dems for Obama.

Obama's supporters say they plan a series of rallies leading up to the primary.

A rally for Hillary Clinton is scheduled in Rochester next week, Saturday, February 2nd at the Laborers Local 435. The event is tentatively scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
