Great 8 -1/22/08

Tuesday means we list in nice neat order, some of the top efforts from the Section Five sports week.  Here's Thad Brown with your high school Great 8.

Number 8, Amber Leonard, Greece Odyssey. Set a school record with 29 points in one game, finished the week with 48 points, 20 rebounds and two wins for the Leopards.

Number 7, Jordan Major led Charlotte to a win with a career high 30 points.

Number 6, Ashley Armstrong, East. 31 points and ten boards in a win for the Orientals.

Number 5, Jason Corletta scored 32 points in one game, 50 for the week, helping Sutherland to a pair of wins.

Number 4, Dane Miller, Rush Henrietta. A career high 37 points to go with 15 rebounds and five blocks in a win for the Royal Comets.

At 3, NaQuasha Britton, Greece Arcadia. 27 points and 20 boards in a win followed by 14 and 7 as the Lady Titans handed Churchville its first loss of the year.

Number 2, Zedrick Wilson scored 40 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and thefted eight steals as Franklin won a double overtime thriller against Monroe.

Number 1, Mike Rapone coached his 800th win at Batavia Notre Dame, becoming only the third Section Five coach to win that many.
