Mercy High School prepares to add new grade

(BRIGHTON) - Our Lady of Mercy tells News 8 it is in talks to add a grade to its school. School leaders will meet next week to formally discuss adding a sixth grade.
"We are pleased that we have the resources to accommodate 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in our middle school program at Mercy High School. The model for middle years programs nationally includes grade 6, is instructionally and developmentally sound and is a distinct program to meet the needs of emerging adolescents, unlike the traditional junior high school. Our school building allows for a small, separate wing for middle school students where young women can flourish intellectually, spiritually and emotionally,” said Suzanne Johnson, President of Mercy High School.
