High school coach wins number 500

There are now three coaches on top of mount 500--Ed Nietopski, Roger Rigby and, as of Monday, Mike Rapone. Rapone's Batavia Notre Dame Irish defeated Kendall 70-37 at Notre Dame high school. The win was the 500th of Rapone's career. His alltime record is now 500-130. Kevin Francis led three players in double figures with 14 points for the Irish. Rapone is coaching his 28th season at Notre Dame. In that time he has won seven sectional titles and two state championships.
