On Thursday the Rochester Community Coalition unveiled it's wish list of seven major projects they'll seek funding for in 2008. The list includes: -38.4 million dollars in Aid and Incentives to Municipalities Funding for Rochester -10 million investment in Monroe County through mandate relief -One million for the Hillside Work-Scholarship connection -50 million for the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at Rochester Institute of Technology -One million for the Rochester area Colleges Center for Math and Science -50 million for Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Rochester -65 million to clear the way for he new Paetec Headquarters at Midtown. In all the list totals about 215 million dollars. “These are all items that will drive the local economy and they're all critical to our positioning for the future going forward,” said Brooks. Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy stood side by side with Brooks at the announcement ”All these things that were asking for they are economic drivers. It will create jobs, they will create excitement, and they will create vitality up here,” said Mayor Duffy. State assemblyman David Koon says the unified list will make it easier to make a case to lawmakers in Albany. “This is the first year that they’ve come together and say we all agree these are the priorities and I think it will make it a much easier project to get I saying at least some if not all of these projects, said Koon.
