Mayor Duffy is asking the Rochester CIty Council to approve the sale of some vacant land on Charlotte Street for downtown's latest housing initiative."Charlotte Place" which has been in the works for nearly 3 years, would initially involve construction of 40 condos, with room for more if things work out.
The condos would be adjacent to some already successful housing starts which have become part of a mini boom in the East End
Duffy is proposing to sell developers David and Frank Christa approximately 1 acre of vacant land for $240,000.
The site was once occupied by industrial buildings.
The Christas would also have an exclusive option to purchase another 3/4acre parcel for an additional $160,000.
