Police investigating death of Alfred University student

alfreddeath2007-12-10-1197327592.jpgPolice are investigating the death of an Alfred University student after an off-campus fight. Police say 21-year-old Thomas Argentieri died early Sunday morning at a residence located on 57 North Main Street. Argentieri was a senior in the School of Business at Alfred and was a resident of Horseheads, NY.


“While we do not have a great deal of information at this time, we have been told by police they believe there is no immediate danger to other Alfred University students and personnel,” said Norman Pollard, dean of students for the University.

“Our first concerns now are for the family and friends of Mr. Argentieri,” said Kathy Woughter, vice president for Student Affairs. The University’s Counseling and Student Development Center staff has been notified. Dr. Cathie Chester, director of the counseling center, will have counselors available to meet with students, faculty and staff.
