Duffy says he'll continue to find money to support "Zero Tolerance"

Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy says he will continue to find ways to fund the City’s “Zero Tolerance” program. Just two weeks ago City Council authorized $2.5 million for the City's crackdown on crime. As News 8 Now was first to report on Thursday, Duffy is now asking for an additional one point six million dollars. However, some city council members questioned and critiqued the Mayor's request for more money. Duffy tells News 8 he is still pursuing other monetary avenues to keep “Zero Tolerance” afloat.
"We are hoping to get other efforts in place, inside other staffing levels. I'm not going to say we won't go back and ask for more. But I think what I'm saying is I don't plan on going back routinely and asking for large sums of money. We can't do that," says Duffy.
Most of the money the Mayor is requesting would pay for overtime for police officers on the streets.
