clintonclinicribboncutting2007-12-07-1197068625.jpgHispanic women in Rochester have a new place to turn for comprehensive health care. Friday, Rochester General Hospital and the Perinatal Network cut the ribbon on its new center…"Comienza Sano." That's Spanish for healthy start.

The center will offer pre-natal care, parenting classes, counseling services. Services will be free to women who live in the so-called "Crescent."

"There are women in this community that aren't getting served and early access to care, actually during pregnancy, is extremely important to improving a healthy baby that is born,"  says Susanna Peer of the Perinatal Network

This program is specifically designed to improve premature births and low birth weights, which can lead to problems later in life.
