PEARLHARBORCHARLOTTEA2007-12-07-1197065447.jpgSixty six years ago today, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, drawing the U.S. in to World War Two. In Charlotte Friday morning, a ceremony was held that honored the few Pearl Harbor survivors that remain in the area.

"That morning I was awakened by a gun going off about 100 yards away from where I was," says Pearl Harbor survivor Walter Samolio.

The Charlotte American Legion Post also put on a breakfast, wreath laying and a 21-gun salute as part of the commemoration.  More than 2300 Americans lost their lives in the attack, 66 years ago today.
